Testimonial: What NACM Means to Me

Updated: Mar 15, 2021

Want to know why NACM Heartland is important to our members? Check out what our board member Norman Honas of Helena Agri-Enterprises LLC had to say.

I have been involved with ag credit since 1979. My tenure in the trade credit industry started in 1989.

NACM Heartland has been an extremely valuable tool as a networking source with other credit folks in the industry, as well as the use of the ICE reporting system. At times we are not able to obtain any or good quality financial information on a customer to determine credit worthiness. ICE is one of the tools that we use for underwriting purposes to support a credit decision.

I like to say that credit is a twelve-legged stool. How many legs can be removed before the credit fails? ICE can help with one of those legs as support for a decision.

NACM also adds quality training for our credit professionals with the CBA, CBF and CCE as well as other certifications. This training will result in developing a solid team that is better educated and becomes motivated to work the day to day tasks involved with the credit department. All of this will lower bad debt, which creates value for the credit department, as well as adding profitability for your company.
